We are pleased to announce the roll out of our Cancer Wellbeing Event Series.

Following a highly successful pilot in the autumn and very positive patient feedback. We are looking forward to delivering this unique and valuable support event again for our PCN patients.

Starting Wednesday 14th January the PCN-wide support group will be held at Heatherlands Practice. The group is open to any Healthier Neighboruhoods PCN patient who is navigating a cancer diagnosis, at any stage of their journey. The event series will run each Wednesday for 6 weeks starting 14th January 11am-12noon.

The Cancer Care Support Group offers a safe, welcoming and supportive environment where patients can come together to share experiences, ask questions, and connect with others who understand what they are going through. Each week, the group will be joined by key professionals from cancer support services across Wirral, who will provide helpful information, insight, and invitations to access wider support services.

Sessions will cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • Emotional and mental wellbeing support

  • Support for families and carers

  • Benefits, financial guidance and practical help

  • Managing the impact of cancer on daily life

  • Practical tips, advice and signposting to local services

If you are interested in attending, please speak to your GP practice and ask to be referred to Tracy Leech, our Cancer Care Coordinator, who will be happy to support you with joining the event.

We look forward to welcoming patients to this supportive space and continuing to provide compassionate, person-centred care across our PCN.
