Weekly Carers' Coffee Afternoon Offers Support, Advice and Connection
Patients who care for family members, friends or loved ones are invited to join a welcoming weekly Carers' Coffee Afternoon at Heatherlands Medical Centre, hosted by the Healthier Neighbourhoods Care Coordinator team.
The informal gathering provides a friendly and supportive space for carers to take time for themselves, meet others in similar situations and access practical advice and support.
Held every week at Heatherlands Medical Centre, on Thursday afternoon between 1pm and 2pm the sessions offer complimentary refreshments, good conversation, information, signposting to local services and an opportunity to speak with care coordinators who can help carers access the support they need.
Caring for others can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging and sometimes isolating. The weekly coffee afternoon helps reduce social isolation by bringing carers together in a relaxed and welcoming environment where they can share experiences, build friendships and support one another.
The group also plays an important role in promoting resilience, wellbeing and emotional health, helping carers feel more connected and better supported in their caring roles.
Healthier Neighbourhoods Care Coordinators encourage anyone who provides unpaid care for a family member, friend or neighbour to come along and discover the benefits of connecting with other carers in their local community.
