Medical Centre to Team with Community Partners for Free Carers Event
Heatherlands Medical Centre, part of Healthier Neighbourhoods Primary Care Network, are to host a free patient and community event for Carers.
The event which will focus on providing information, support and health advice to Carers and their families, will take place at Heatherlands Medical Centre on Saturday 22nd March 9am to 12noon.
Speaking about the event, Practice Manager for Heatherlands Medical Centre, Karen Jones said, “We’re delighted to be hosting this event for our population of carers and their families. We will have a GP and Practice Nurse available, along with a team of Health Coaches, Social Prescribers and Care Co-ordinators, and the aim is to be on hand to address any healthcare needs and requirements carers and their families might have."
The event is being supported by various community partners including WIRED, Macmillan Cancer Support, ABL, Dementia Together, Involve Northwest and CGL.

Lynn Griffiths, Wirral Services Manager for WIRED ((Wirral Information Resource for Equality and Diversity) said: “WIRED Carers Support are happy to be supporting Heatherlands Medical Centre with their Carers Event and provide the right information and advice to the unpaid carers."
Wirral Ways said: We're thrilled to have been invited to join the team at Heatherlands for their Carers Event. We have a fantastic working relationship with the team there. This is a fantastic opportunity for us as a service to engage with the wider community and share what support we can offer to people."
Practice Manager, Karen Jones, added: “It is essential that Carers remember to take care of themselves too. Being able to access support, health advice and information in a welcoming setting, at events such as these, is so vitally important to Carers health and wellbeing.”
