A New Cancer Wellbeing Event Series Launches
New Cancer Support Wellbeing Event Series Launches, Uniting Local Organisations for Direct Patient Care
In a powerful demonstration of community collaboration, a new cancer support wellbeing event series has been launched in partnership with several local cancer organisations. This initiative aims to provide tangible, direct support to patients and their families, addressing both physical and emotional wellbeing throughout their cancer journey.
By teaming up with a host of neighbourhood cancer organisations, the series leverages the unique strengths and resources of each group, ensuring a comprehensive support network. Coordinating efforts like these is crucial, as it reduces fragmentation of services and maximises impact for patients who often face overwhelming challenges.
“This collaboration allows us to deliver holistic support, from practical advice and emotional counselling to wellbeing activities that promote healing and resilience,” said one of the event organisers. “When community neighbourhood organisations join forces, we create a stronger, more accessible safety net for those affected by cancer.”
The event series includes a host of guest speakers invited specifically to talk about topics that help address the needs of cancer patients in the community. This partnership model is a vital step in improving patient outcomes and fostering a sense of hope and connection.
As the series unfolds, it stands as a testament to the power of collaboration in healthcare, reminding us that united efforts can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those navigating cancer.
The next session takes place on Wednesday 1st October at 11am-12noon at Paxton Medical Group, Claughton. We will be joined by the Benefits Advisor from Maggies Cancer Centre to talk about financial support, benefits and answer any questions. The event is open to all patients from across the PCN; Paxton Medical Group, Heatherlands Medical Centre, Prenton + Woodchurch Medical Centre.
