Paxton Medical Group Support Beechwood Youth Team
Paxton Medical Group, part of Healthier Neighbourhoods PCN, supported a new youth team from the Beechwood community for a special tournament held at Tranmere Rovers stadium last month.
The team played brilliantly, and everyone contributed to their superb achievement of reaching the Semi-Finals! The even more remarkable thing is that until the tournament these boys hadn’t played together as an official team. They’re friends/ neighbours from the area who are usually kicking a ball around in the streets due to lack of dedicated football facilities for children on the estate.
It was the idea of Fender FC CIC and local resident, Lewis Shaw, to put a team together for this tournament and give the boys a great day out and some superb memories.
Dr Mark Fraser commented: 'Sponsoring this youth football team reflects our commitment to tackling health inequalities and strengthening our ties with the local community. By supporting opportunities for children to stay active and engage in team sports, we’re helping to foster better physical and mental health, and build a stronger, more connected neighbourhood.'
We are delighted to be supporting the boys of Beechwood united and Fender FC CIC for the season ahead.
