Medical Centre to host event for Social Prescribing Day 2025
Many things that affect our health cannot be treated by doctors or medicine alone, like loneliness, isolation or stress due to problems with debt or housing. Social prescribing connects people to non-medical support to address these issues and other unmet needs.
On Wednesday 19th March Social Prescribers from Healthier Neighbourhoods PCN, along with a host of community partners including Age UK, Health Start and EPP will be hosting a patient focused drop in event at Paxton Medical Centre, Claughton, to provide information, advice and support.
Speaking about the event, Social Prescriber, Victoria Sambrook said, " We help and support patients with non-clinical issues, from loneliness and family issues to financial stress or poor housing. Supporting people in this way helps to manage and resolve those issues and in turn helps to support their health and wellbeing.
When patients can connect with direct support within their local community, it helps foster healthier and happier neighbourhoods. Our event will give patients the opportunity to access that help and support and connect with local organisations."
The drop in will operate between 10am-12noon and 2pm-4pm on Wednesday 19th March in the foyer area of Paxton Medical Centre, Claughton.
