Wellbeing Team Support Wirral Wellness Festival
A superb weekend of community, health and wellbeing was held at Birkenhead Park.
Earlier this month, our PCN Wellbeing team joined a host of other community health and wellbeing organisations for the annual Wirral Wellness Festival, in Birkenhead Park. The event showcased the best of neighbourhood health and wellbeing, promoting everything from yoga to menopause support, mental health and outdoor activity groups.
The PCN wellbeing team popped up at the event for the weekend, offering free health checks to the festival goers, as well as signposting them to help and support from our social prescribers. Our care coordinators were on hand to talk about the groups, activities and events that form a year round calendar of wellness support and activity for our patients.
Speaking about the event, Dr Mark Fraser, said: "We were delighted to contribute to the wellness festival in our local neighborhood. This event was an incredible opportunity to come together as a community to promote health and wellbeing for all. Addressing health inequality is more important than ever, and festivals like this play a vital role in bringing essential resources, education, and support directly to those who need it most. By engaging with residents and providing accessible interventions, we are helping to bridge gaps in health outcomes and empower individuals to take charge of their wellbeing. We look forward to continuing this important work and supporting initiatives that foster healthier, more equitable communities."
